Description: Shin Gunto sword for the Japanese army during WW2. History:
This sword was purchased approximately 20 years ago from a Belgian collector. He told us the story, that this sword was a gift from the Chinese government to the Japanese government after the Manchurian War, as a token of honor after the war period. Which seemed quite credible to me since knowing a lot about Japanese weapons of war, it has certain similarities but obviously it is clear that the techniques that the Japanese army used to create swords have not been used.
It is extremely crude and heavy, since it would make it very difficult for any officer to carry it around the waist.
It is a unique piece and I hope it is valued as such.
